Nebraska Shooters

Our NRA Pistol Instructor Training course is designed to develop NRA Certified Instructors who possess the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to conduct the NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course. Prior to attending this course you will either need to complete the online portion of the NRA Basic Pistol Phase 1 so that you can complete the Phase 2 portion during this session or come in at 6:00 pm on 7/21/17 to attend an Instructor Led session for the Basic Pistol (Or Both). The Pistol Instructor Training begins with our NRA Basic Instructor Training class, then the Basics of Pistol Shooting Phase 2, and then the Pistol Instructor Training.  These 3 classes together form the required course for NRA Pistol Instructor certification. (You are not considered an NRA Certified Instructor until the NRA Training Department processes your application and issues your instructor credentials.)  This includes the Basic Instructor Training (BIT), the Student Basic Pistol Phase 2 and the Pistol Instructor Training so no other courses will be required to obtain your NRA Pistol Instructor Credentials after passing this course.

NRA Pistol Instructor certification is a requirement for becoming a Concealed Handgun Permit (CHP) Instructor in Nebraska, Iowa, Colorado, Missouri, and many other states. Remember that the individual states decide all matters relating to their CHP programs including whether, when, and to whom they issue Instructor certificates. You must apply directly to your state and meet their requirements for certification as a CHP instructor.

The Training Counselor (Justin Grusing) for this course has been a Nebraska Concealed Carry instructor for several years so if you are taking this class to prepare for becoming a concealed carry instructor you will be able to get many of your questions answered to make the journey much smoother.

This is a full weekend which includes the Basic Instructor Training and the Basic Pistol student course as well as the prequalification shooting drills and the actual instructor course.  Your lunches and snacks will be included.

You will just need to bring your handgun and approximately 300 rounds of ammo so you can demonstrate your ability to shoot to the standards required to be an NRA instructor.  You will be required to shoot 16 out of 20 rounds in a 6" groups on an 8" from 15 yards.   You will be given several chances if you do not accomplish this the first time.

You can pay for the class with credit card or debit card below or if you are going to pay by check please select the "Pay Instructor Directly" option.  Your spot will not be reserved until the check is received.

NOTICE: Due to a recent change in the NRA Pistol Training course, we recommend that you complete the online portion of the student course prior to attending the instructor course so you will be familiar with the material your Blended Learning students will have before coming to you for a Phase 2 portion of the course.  You can do this at and it will cost $60 paid directly to the NRA or you can pay for a control code below for $25 and I will send you a code to enroll in the course online.  You will be assigned a PIN upon completion of the online course so bring that with you.  (It will be printed on the certificate of completion)

The $300 $270 includes the BIT, the Phase 2 of the student course, and the Pistol Instructor training.  Classes start at 8:00 am and we will be in Classroom Bravo at the Nebraska Shooters Training Academy at 3200 Gage Rd Firth, NE 68358.
